Before I start talking about the KJW M9, I would like to point out a
couple important items. First, I own two of these guns and I love
them to death. Second, it hurts me to say it but I think Glocks are
better. Last, if you would like to debate about which airsoft gun is
better, go to the forum by

With that out of the way, let’s get down to
business. First the M9 by KJW does come in full metal and half
metal. Both types are blowbacks and use the same clip. They hold 25
rounds in the clip and that is 5 more then a full sized Glock. While
both kinds are very similar, there are a few differences between
them. The full metal uses more gas because the slide needs more gas
to blow it back. It is very rare but I have seen a plastic slide
break and it could have been avoided by the full metal slide. They
use more gas but it is much more durable.
The internal side of this gun is actually
pretty complicated. It has a total of 7 springs that vary in size
and importance. One of the most important springs is the trigger
spring that can easily be lost when you try and take off the grips.
I am going to write tutorials on how to do pretty much anything with
your M9 but for now make sure you don’t lose that spring if you are
going take off the grips. With a couple more springs then the KJW
Glock, the M9 is internally more complicated and has more things
that could break.
The M9 usually comes with a replacement barrel
but they can be picked up for around 13 dollars at most AirSoft
stores in San Diego. The barrel can be changed but it is kind of
complicated. So if you want to get rid of your orange plastic barrel
and replace it with a longer lasting metal barrel, check out my
tutorial on that coming soon.
There are two main reasons why the
Glock is better then the M9. The Glock has a smaller clip, which
means that you cant fire as much gas and bring down the temperature
of the clip as fast. When the clip gets cold your gun will miss-fire
but more on that in the gas tutorial. (click
here) Also, the internals of the Glock is a lot less complicated
then the M9. The bigger clip of the M9 can be a major plus but make
sure you keep your clips as warm as possible.
The M9 is a great gun and I can
personally vouch for them because I own both full metal and half
metal. They are very reliable except for when the clips are cold and
if you open them up and lose a spring. If you like the look of the
M9, don’t be afraid to be invest in the full metal because it is
worth its weight in gold.
