One
of the things I always hated about playing paintball was wearing a
mask. Most paintball masks are large, bulky, and sometimes weigh
quite a bit, so I was hesitant to purchase a Cybergun Mesh Mask. I
bought the mask first and foremost because I was tired of my safety
glasses fogging up, and getting shot in the face.
The first thing I did when I got the mask was to shoot it point
blank with a GBB pistol. I shoot it once in the plastic portion of
the mask and in the mesh over the eyes. Both shots were deflected,
and looking at the mesh I could not see that the mesh was harmed in
any way. The true test came during night game conditions. I have
read many forums where people complain that mesh masks are great for
day games, since the mesh will act to some degree like sunglasses,
but at night it makes everything darker. After playing with this
mask on, I see no difference in darkness levels with it on or off.
The only cons I have on the mask is it only cover the front of the
face, so your ears are not covered, because of this you may want to
wear a ski mask with the mesh mask, or some kind of ear protection
if you are worried about getting hit in the ears. The second problem
due to the black rubber of the goggle portion of the mask, my
peripheral vision was somewhat reduced.
